Have you ever been to The Galleries: Sources, Voices and Histories, a permanent exhibition in the Department of History that aims to introduce students to the fascinating world of histories of the East and the West? The exhibition makes full use of both walls in the Department of History corridor, located on the second floor of the Faculty of Social Sciences building, to display collections of historical significance from faculty members and students, including replicas of letter manuscripts, documents, maps, paintings, drawings, portraits, pictures, and posters.

The Galleries was inspired by the Renaissance concept of ‘Kunstkammern’, which literally means ‘art room’, but is more commonly known as ‘cabinet of curiosities’ or ‘wonder-room’. All UM members are welcome.
