There is a three-masted sailing boat on the lake at UM, right across from Building E21. Turns out it is an exhibition organised by the History and Culture Association of the Port of Macau. The exhibit displays a three-masted sailboat modeled after a fishing boat made in the 1950s. This model is one third the size of the real fishing boat and replicates the body, equipment, and compartments as seen in the original boat design. At the time, Macao fishermen navigated with their meteorological knowledge and excellent nautical skills, in combination with folk wisdom and technologies of the industry.

This model was previously exhibited in Navy Yard No 1 – Contemporary Art Centre and on Sai Van Lake. The exhibition at UM will last from August 2018 to August 2019.

The exhibition kicks off on 9 August
